Madras University Distance Education: The University of Madras was founded in 1857 and established its Institute of Distance Education in the year 1981 to help learners achieve their educational, career and personal goals. Madras University Distance Education Admission 2025
The online admission window at Madras University for its distance education courses will start on 25 January 2025. The institution will release an online notification and admission prospectus on its official website http://www.ideunom.ac.in/ for the January 2025-26 academic year. The university will invite interested candidates for its various UG, PG, Diploma, and Certificate courses in several disciplines.
The university opens its admission gateway in two sessions (January & July) for the new students. The selection of the applicants is merit based on the majority of programmes except the MBA and MCA. Admission to these two courses is only possible with an entrance test conducted by the institution itself.

Madras University Distance Education UG Admission 2025
The admission process for IDEUNOM UG courses will start from 25 January 2025 for the 2025-26 academic year. The university will be inviting the students for distance UG courses in Commerce, Science, Arts, Language and other fields. Madras University Distance Education PG Admission 2025
The postgraduate admission at University of Madras DDE is available at PG degree and Diploma courses in various fields including management IT, Cyber Law, etc. The admission is expected to start from 25 January 2025, with a last date of 28 February 2025. Students having a UG degree will get merit based selection to all courses except MBA & MCA. To enroll in these two courses you’ll need to clear the entrance test conducted by the institute of distance education.

Eligibility Criteria for Madras University Distance Education Courses
- Distance BA / Distance BBA / Distance BCom / Distance BSc / Distance BCA / Distance BFA: Interested students are required to pass 10+2 exams from any recognized board or Three year diploma after 10th from Chennai State Technical Board.
- Distance BA French: Applicants need to pass 10+2 with having french language in their 10th or 12th class. Or any 10+2 pass students can apply but they need to do a compulsory french foundation course.
- Distance Diploma & Certificate Courses: Candidates just need to pass their HSc (10th or 12th) exams from a Chennai state board/CBSE/ICSE or any reputed board.
- Distance MA (Tamil/English/Pol Science): Students having a BA or any UG degree with relevant subjects are eligible.
- Distance MSc (Mathematics/Psychology/Forensic): Applicants must have a BSc or equivalent UG degree with relevant subjects.
- Distance MCom: Candidates must pass a BCom or any Ug degree with 2 core papers of BCom subject in their bachelors.
- Distance MFA (Music): Students must pass BFA/BA Music or relevant UG degree with Music subject.
Madras University Distance Education Admission Form 2025
Generally, the university of Madras DDE opens its admission forms twice a year, in January and July. On 25 January 2025*, the IDEUNOM will release the online application form for January 2025 academic session on the official website http://www.ideunom.ac.in/. Interested students will be able to apply for various UG, PG, Diploma and other courses after the release of the online forms. The last date to fill out the Madras University Distance Education Admission Form 2025 will be 28 February 2025. The application fee for all courses is Rs 1000/.

- Students are required to visit the official website http://www.ideunom.ac.in/.
- Find the option “Online Admission” and click on it.
- Now register yourself, with filling in the basic details, contact number, etc.
- Login to the portal with your created credentials.
- Choose the preferred course and complete the application form with the appropriate information.
- Upload scanned copy of the essential document for the verification.
- Pay the application fee along with the first year fee of your chosen subject.
- Submit the application and wait for the admission confirmation.
- Save the copy of the form and fee receipt for later use.
