Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar open university will soon invite the applications for February 2025 session. Admission window will open for the certificate, diploma, pg diploma, graduate, and pg graduate level. One shall apply to B.Ed, and Special B.Ed programs after passing the entrance test of the BAOU. Admission to Phd driven courses will be made on university, state, or national level entrance exams.
The University offers a 4-year UG program in various streams like BA Hons( History, Public Administration, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, Sanskrit, Gujarai, Hindi, English, Journalism, and Mass Media), B.Sc Hons (Cyber Security, Computer Applications, Information technology), B.Com hours, Bachelor of Library and Information Sciences, B.Ed.

Eligibility Criteria for BAOU Distance Education Courses:
The eligibility criteria for all the courses offered by BAOU are Stated in the upcoming section of the article, students need to read carefully before they apply at any courses. Undergraduate courses eligibility criteria are mentioned below;
- B.Sc Hons (IT/CS): 10+2 or equivalent or 10th +ITI or Diploma in Computer Engineering/Information Technology.
- B.Com: Students with a Class 12th or equivalent or Class 10th+Diploma or Class 10th+ITI certificate.
- BLIS: Graduate from regular university or done any vocational program.
- BSW: 12th Pass (10+2) or equivalent examination passed (in any stream) from a Council/Board.
- Bachelor of Arts or BA Hons: Candidate should have passed 10+2 or a 3-year diploma course after 10 from a recognized University/Board. Selection is merit-based.
- B.Ed Program: Graduate/Postgraduate with 50% marks and 55% in Mathematics and Science. 5% relaxation to reserved category and 40% for disabled in the entrance exam will be accepted, PTC, ATD, D.Ed, D.El. Ed from a recognized University.
BAOU PG Courses Eligibility Criteria:
The eligibility criteria for Post Graduate Programs are as follows;
- Distance MCA: Candidate must have passed BCA/ B. Sc/ BE (CSE)/ B.Tech (CSE), BE (IT), B.Tech (IT), or equivalent degree.
- Distance MBA: Candidate must have passed any Bachelor’s degree of a minimum of 3 years with a minimum of 50% aggregate or any professional qualification or Postgraduate in any subjects like Commerce, Engineering, Science, Education, etc, from a recognized University.
- Distance MA: Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate.
- Distance MSC: Any graduate degree holder from accredited university shall be eligible to enroll in the Master of science in Cyber Security or Information Technology Program.
BAOU Distance Education Admission Process 2025
A new admission cycle for the February 2025 batch of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar open university will begin soon. In the second or third weeks of January 2025, the university may release its online registration form for distance education courses such as MBA, MCA, MSC(IT/CS), Master of Arts, and other programs mentioned above. A one-time registration fee of INR 500 is required for all courses at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University.
Step by Step process for BAOU Distance learning courses Application Form
The February 2025 session registration for admission will have six steps to follow, but first, applicants must read it carefully.
- Step-1: Students seeking admission to degree programs at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU) must complete the registration process through the GCAS portal. (GCAS Registration Link for Students)
- Step-2: After completing the GCAS portal registration process, log in to the BAOU portal “https://baou.edu.in/apply-online” using the user ID and password provided by GCAS.
- Step-3: fill all the asked details from the university and Pay the prescribed fee for the chosen course.
- Step-4: Go to the form entry section and fill in details about subjects, centers, etc.
- Step-5: Upload the required documents in JPG format as per the specified size.
- Step-6: After uploading the documents, submit the form. A PDF of the form will be generated, but it is not mandatory to produce a hard copy of the form.
