Admission process for the PG courses at University of Burdwan Distance Education is not yet open. Eligibility Criteria for Burdwan University Distance Education Courses
University of Burdwan Distance Education BEd
The university offers admission to a 2 years Bachelor of Education degree in distance learning mode. It is NCTE recognized degree that is only offered to Govt Teachers or NCTE program graduates. The admission process in this course are merit list which is prepare on the basis of applicants marks in the qualifying degree. The total fee for this course is Rs 50,000 and students have to pay Rs 25,000/ per annum (per part). Addittionally, there will be Rs 200/ as a one time registration fee.
The eligibility requirement of this course is mentioned below:
- Interested candidates must be a In-Service govt teacher in elementry education.
- Or the applicants must have completed any NCTE recognized Teacher Education programme in regular (face to face) mode.
- Students must have completed their graduation in any stream from a recognized university.

Burdwan University Distance Education Admission Process 2025
Burdwan University will commence its admission process in May for post-graduate ODL courses. Candidates should check the university’s online portal http://dde.buruniv.ac.in/ for recent updates. Candidates must carefully read and understand the instructions before submitting the online application form. Incomplete Burdwan University Distance Education admission forms will be treated as cancelled. The application fee amount for all courses is 500 is to be paid, for confirmation.
Given below is a step-by-step procedure on how to get admission at Burdwan University:
- Create an ABC-ID and DEB-ID: Students must create an ABC-ID and DEB-ID if they don’t already have one. Visit the ABC portal online and create the ID.
- Choose study centre and course: Candidates then must choose the study centre out of the 11 study centres offered by Burdwan University Distance Education and additionally, they must choose the course they wish to pursue.
- Register: Enter your mobile number and email ID for registration. Make sure to enter the correct information as it can not be changed later. A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the email ID for application verification.
- Login: Login with the registration ID and OTP. After that add all the basic details asked by the university.
- Payment: Once the basic details are added, the candidate must make the payment through options like Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, NEFT/RTGS, or UPI/QR Code. A registration fee of INR 500 is to be paid.
- Document upload: After payment, candidates must upload their recent passport-size photograph, signature, ABC-ID card, and Aadhaar Card (JPEG/JPG/PNG format, max 55 kb).
- Application printout: After uploading the required documents, candidates should take a printout of the Burdwan University Distance Education application form.
