Jammu University Distance Education: The University of Jammu Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), located in Jammu and Kashmir, offers quality distance education. It aims to provide educational opportunities to many students who cannot pursue regular courses. The University of Jammu is an accredited ‘A+’ grade university established in 1969 via the Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act 1969.

Jammu University Distance Education Courses Admission 2025 

Jammu University has already started its admission process for a few courses and for the remaining, it will commence soon. The last date for filling out the application form is the 28 February 2025*. Once the admission forms are out students can apply to the Jammu University Centre for Distance and Online Education at the university’s online portal https://www.distanceeducationju.in with an application fee of INR 360 for all categories. 

Students can apply to a variety of courses both UG and PG, candidates can choose those, but need to make sure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria provided by the university. Jammu University’s CDOE fee ranges from INR 7,000 to INR 18,000 per annum, making it affordable for all students. 

Eligibility Criteria for Jammu University Distance Education UG Courses 

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.): Distance and Online Education (CDOE) provides a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), over 2 years. The eligibility criteria are as follows: 

  • Students with at least 50% marks either in Bachelor’s degree or in master’s degree, in any specialisation are eligible for this programme. 
  • Candidates who are full-time teachers in any school recognised by the government, which is within the territory of the University of Jammu.
  • Who has a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience when the form is filled?
  • First preference is given to those candidates who have completed a Diploma in Education (D.El.Ed).

Eligibility Criteria of Jammu University Distance Education PG Courses

  • Master of Arts (M.A): Jammu University distance education provides Masters of Arts in various specializations. The eligibility for each of them is given below: 
    • Dogri: The candidate should be graduated with any discipline under the (10+2+3) pattern. 
    • Hindi: Students must fulfil any of the three given criteria to be eligible for an M.A. Hindi: Graduation with Hindi as a core subject OR Graduation with 24 credits in which Hindi or a related subject as Core/DSE in all six semesters OR Graduation with any discipline with minimum 60% aggregate marks. 
    • MA Sociology Distance Education: To be eligible to study this course candidates must fulfil any of the three given criteria: Graduation with sociology as a core/elective subject OR Graduation with (10+2+3) pattern with any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks. OR Graduation with 24 credits in the Core in all six semesters.
    • MA Political Science: Students must fulfil any of the criteria to be eligible to be this course: Graduation with Political science as an elective/core subject OR Graduation under any of the subjects of Social sciences with at least 50% marks OR Graduation with 24 credits in the core or DSC in all six semesters OR Graduation under any discipline with at least 60% aggregate marks.
    • MA English: Students must fulfil any of the three given criteria to be eligible for a Master in English: Undergraduate with English literature as an elective/core subject OR Graduation with 24 credits in the core or DSC in all six semesters OR Graduation (10+2+3 pattern)  in any discipline with at least 60% aggregate marks. 
  • Master of Commerce (M.Com): To be eligible for applying for Distance M.Com a candidate must fulfil any one of the given three criteria:
    • Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)/ Bachelor of Commerce honours (10+2+3) pattern; with not less than 50% aggregate marks.
    • Graduation under any degree (10+2+3) pattern; with no less than 60% marks.
    • PGDBM/B.B.A with not less than 50% marks.

Application Process for Jammu University Distance Education Admission 2025

The application process for the University of Jammu Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) is said to begin any day now. It is very easy to apply for admission to the university’s online website. To apply for Jammu University Distance Education, candidates need to follow the given simple steps:

  • Registration: Candidates then should create an account if they already don’t have an account. Creating an account is simple, all you have to give is a valid email ID and phone number. 
  • Fill out the form: After creating an account, log it in give the necessary details, and also add the course you wish to pursue. 
  • Document upload: After filling out the form, upload the documents required, in the format asked. 
  • Fee payment: Pay the application fee as required. Fees can be paid from online methods like Debit card/ Credit card, UPI, NetBanking, GPay, Paytm, etc.
  • Submission: Submit the form. Now the candidate has to wait for admission confirmation mail from the University.

  • Completed application form
  • Passport-sized photograph
  • Educational certificates (10th, 12th, and/or degree mark sheets)
