Kerala University Distance Education: IDEKU is soon going to start the registrations for July admission cycle. The online application form for ODL BA, BCom, BBA, BLIS, MA, MSc, MLIS, etc courses with multiple specializations will release on 10 May 2025. Students passed 10+2 exams are eligible to apply for UG course and any bachelor’s degree paas out are eligible for PG courses.
The last date to apply for Kerala University distance education admission 2025-26 will be 30 June 2025*. The registration fee for general category students will be INR 105. Interested candidates can complete the online registration by visiting the official website @ideku.net.
About University: The University of Kerala was founded in the year of 1937 by the Maharaja of Travancore, Sri Chithira Trinul Balarama Varma, who was also the first Chancellor of the university. It is a well known university of India entitled by UGC-DEB, and re-accredited by NAAC with an “A++” grade.
SDE Kerala university started in 1976 (now CDOE) as a teaching and research department of the University and is one of the state’s centres for ODL learning. Kerala University CDOE offers admission to 23 Open and Distance Learning (ODL) program. These courses includes 11 undergraduate (UG) and 12 Postgraduate (PG) courses under Arts, Commerce, Science, Library Science and Management fields.

SDE Kerala university only offers admissions once in a year the admission forms release in the second week of May for the July 2025 academic cycle. The last date for Kerala University Distance Education (IDEKU) admission will be 30 June 2025*. The admisson form fee for all courses is Rs 105.
The process of enrollment is avilable is both modes (online & offline) but online mode is more convinient, time saving and can be complete from comfort of home. Ideku has recommended 11 UG and 12 PG programmes at Kerala University CDOE for the academic year 2025-26. These include BLISc, BBA, B.Com, B.A, MLISc, M.Com, and M.A, all of them in various specializations. The fees of offered ODL courses is ranges from INR 7,000 to INR 25,000 making it more affordable for the marginalised sectors.
The university allows merit based admissions to its all distance programmes. However, applicants need to meet the minimum required of their desired course set by the university.
Kerala University Distance Education UG Courses
The SDE Kerala University offers 5 degree programmes with 11 different specializations at undergraduate level. The duration of these courses is between 3 to 4 years (1 year for BLIS). Students can pursue most of them after passing their 12th baord exams. The annual fee range of these courses is between Rs 6250 to 23375.
IDEKU will start release the UG admission forms in the second of May 2025 on its official website. The institution will select applicants based on their performance in the qualifying exams. The last date for Kerala university distance education UG admission 2025-26 will be 30 June 2025.

SDE Kerala University UG Courses Eligibility
- Distance BLIS: To be eligible in this course a candidate must complete a bachelor’s degree with at least 40% marks.
- Distance BBA: To be eligible to study this course must pass in 10+2 with a recognised board with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
- Distance BCom: To study this candidate must pass in 10+2 in any recognised board or equivalent course and 45% minimum marks for non-Commerce stream.
- Distance BA (All specializations): Kerala University offers a Bachelor of Arts in many specializations mentioned below. To study these courses candidates must pass 10+2 with any recognised board.
SDE Kerala University PG Courses Eligibility
- Master of Library and Information Sciences: To study this course candidate must complete a BLISc or equivalent degree.
- Distance MCom (Finance): To be eligible for this course candidate must study any of the given degrees with a minimum 4.5 CCPA – B.Com/BBA/BBM.
- Distance MA (Sociology): Students must have studied BA/BSc/B/Com/BBA/B/Tech with at least 4.5 CCPA and in BSc must have 6 CCPA.
- Distance MA Public Administration: Must complete BA/BSc/BBA with a 4.5 CCPA.
- Distance MA Political Science: To study this course candidate must have completed BA/B.Com/BBA/BSc Psychology with 4.5 CCPA/ 6 CCPA for BSc.
- Distance MA History: To be eligible for B. A History candidate must completa e a BA with a 4.5 CCPA.
- Master of Arts (M.A.) (English): To be eligible for B.AnnA English candidates must complete BA English with a 4.5 CCPA. And 5 CCPA for others.
- Distance MSc: Masters of science are given in two specialisations, and the eligibility is given below.
- Masters of Science (M.Sc) (Computer Science): To study computer science specialisation candidate must complete a BSc Computer Science/Electronics /BCA with 5 CCPA
- Masters of Science (M.Sc) (Mathematics): To study with Mathematics specialisation students must complete a BScinh Mathematics/Statistics with a 5.5 CCPA.

Hard copies of applications filled properly should be sent to The Director, School of Distance Education, University of Kerala, Kariavattom Campus, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 581, by the registered post with written “APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO (Name of the programme),” with the documents required. However, it is mandatory to send the hard copies of the application to the CDOE office within 15 days from the date of submission of the online application by Speed Post.

- Download the application form from the official prospectus and take a printout of the form.
- Fill up the form and attach the self attested hard copy of your documents.
- Send the printed IDEKU admission form along with the fee receipts (Cost of Prospectus, first-semester fee, admission fee, affiliation, and other applicable fees, DDF receipt of Rs.105/-) and required documents to: The Director, Centre for Distance and Online Education, SDE, University of Kerala, Kariavattom Campus, TVPM – 695581.
