Punjabi University Distance Education: The university has started the admission process for distance education UG, and PG level courses into the February 2025 academic session. Students must meet the eligibility criteria that set by the university for the UG course you must 12th pass out and for the PG course admission you must be a graduate from a recognized university.

Patiala University distance education started the admission for the 2025 January session. Candidates can apply on the website cdoepunjabiuniversity.in. 20 March 2025 is the last date for Punjabi University Distance education admission with a late fee for all the offered UG and PG level courses. For the registration, students must pay a fee of INR 200 to INR 300 (tentative).

The payment must be done through credit or debit cards, or net banking. Only online enrollment is accepted at present at the university. Candidates with no access to a computer device, can apply at a nearby cybercafe.

Eligibility Criteria for Punjabi University Distance Education Programs

The eligibility for the programs is different at the Punjabi University distance education. Students who want to enroll at the university must understand the requirements for each program before admitting through the online procedure.

• Distance BA (Combination of 3 Subjects): Students must have passed higher secondary level from the Punjab School Education Board or any other well-known authorized board or equivalent can apply.

• Distance BCom:10+2 degree from any recognized board or Punjab School Education or equivalent qualification is eligible to apply on the university. Candidates must have 40% marks in higher secondary in Commerce group, or 45% in Humanities or Accounts studies, and the curriculum must have two papers in management, economics, mathematics, or commerce.

• Distance BLIS: Applicants must have passed a bachelor’s degree in any stream from a statutory university with a minimum of 35% marks. If the student has passed after re-evaluation, he or she will not be enrolled in the merit list.

• Distance MA English: Candidates should have passed a bachelor’s degree in any subject from any other university or Punjabi University in India. The bachelor’s degree must be recognized by the Academic Council of the Punjabi University Patiala or equivalent.

• Distance MAJMC: This program is offered in various parts. For part I, students must have completed their graduate degree from a recognized university in streams such as Journalism and Mass Communication, or English. To gain admission in the third semester, applicants must have 50% marks in the first-year papers, which are the second and first semesters.

• Distance MA Education: Applicants with 45% marks in the higher secondary level, which is 40% for the SC/ST students. To qualify for the second semester, it will require 50% in the first semester. The same rule is valid for admission to the third semester.

Note: Students enrolling for the BA practical subjects have to pay extra fees. For BA Psychology, the elective topic has a fee of INR 800 with INR 1100 per year. For a course in computer science, the extra fee will be INR 550 per semester, a total of INR 1100 each year. Students who have opted for Defense and Strategic Studies have to pay INR 550 as the practical charge in the 2nd, 3rd, and 6th semesters only.

The admission process is done online on the official website. Candidates interested in any course offered at the Punjabi University Distance Education have to fill out the online form and submit the required documents, and after paying the fee, they can complete the process.

• Visit the webpage of the official portal cdoepunjabiuniversity.in.
• At the left side of the page, click on “New Student Registration- (for New and Transfer Students only)” to go to the next step.
• Enter the course name, choose the category, provide the name of the candidate, the applicant’s father’s name, gender, date of birth, and email address, confirm the email ID, mobile number, phone number, WhatsApp mobile number, and click on “Register” to complete the process.
• After registration, return to the previous page, and at the right side of the page click on “Already Registered Students- (for those Students who have Registered for Admission already)” and provide the form ID, and password, and click on “Login”.
• Once you have completed this section, fill up the online application form, and upload the documents such as

    • The signature of the applicant in JPG format, within 20 to 10 KB.
    • Other documents in PDF format, within 50 KB to 100 KB
    • The previous year’s qualifying educational certificates.
    • Fee receipt, migration certificate (if any), physical disability certificate (if any), and pay slip of last month (if you are employed at the university).
• After submitting the documents, click on “Lock Documents” to make the final choice.
• Go through the declaration on the page agree to the rules, and click “Agree” to finalize the application.
